About The Kerala State Coir Corporation Ltd. – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Alappuzha
Our main operations are based in the Factory Ward, and we use Post Box No. 191 for our mail. Being in the coir industry means we deal with a lot of coconut husks and fiber. The whole area around the factory often smells like damp earth and fiber. It is a big operation with a lot of people involved. We have workers who have been spinning and weaving coir for their entire lives. The buildings are old and have seen a lot of use over the years. We have large open spaces where the fiber is processed and dried. It is a very physical job. In the office, we try to keep track of all the production and the orders coming in from different places. It is not always easy because there are so many moving parts. We use old desks and the filing cabinets are overflowing with records. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Most people know about us because of where we are located and what we do. The work is steady, but it depends a lot on the seasons and the availability of raw materials. When the rains come, everything slows down a bit. We just take it day by day. It is a community effort here, and everyone plays their part in keeping the corporation going. We focus on the fiber and making sure the factory stays running as it should every morning.
