Thampi Stores

Thampi Stores is a small place located in Nangiarkulangara, which is part of the Karthikappally Taluk. I have been running this store for a long time now, and it’s become a bit of a local fixture for the people living nearby. We carry a bit of everything because that is what people in a place like this need. You never know if someone is going to walk in for a bag of rice, some nails, or just a bit of advice on something they are fixing at home. The store isn't very big, and the shelves are usually packed tight from the floor to the ceiling. It might look a bit messy to an outsider, but I know exactly where everything is kept. Nangiarkulangara is a nice area, though it can get quiet in the afternoons when the sun is high. I usually sit on the stool near the front door so I can see people coming and going. Sometimes I have a helper, especially when the big deliveries arrive from the city, but mostly it is just me. I don't use any fancy computer systems to track things; I just use a ledger and my memory. It’s worked for me all these years, so I don't see much reason to change it now. We don't have a website or anything like that. If people want something, they just walk down the road and come in to talk to me in person and look through the aisles themselves.
