S.N.Spices

We are located at 55/14, right by the Kanjikuzhy As Canal. It’s a nice spot in Mararikulam where you can see the water moving slowly past the building. Dealing with spices means the air around our place always has a strong, sharp smell—sometimes it’s pepper, sometimes it’s ginger or cardamom, depending on what we are packing that day. The humidity from the canal and the Kerala weather can be a bit much, but it’s part of living here. Our building is a simple structure with enough space to dry and sort the spices we get from the local growers. We don’t have any high-tech machinery, just some basic scales and a lot of manual work. The staff mostly comes from the nearby houses, so it feels like a family affair most of the time. We spend a lot of our day just making sure the quality is right and that nothing has gotten damp from the air. The canal road is quiet compared to the main highway, which we prefer. It’s a slow pace of life here in Kanjikuzhy. We take our time with the work because you can't rush spices if you want them to be any good. It’s a lot of sitting on stools and sorting through piles of goods while the radio plays in the background.
