M/S Atlas Mines & Granites, Mumbai.

We are based down in Kayamkulam, specifically at Kaduvinal Tharayil in Pallickal Naduvilemuri. It's a bit of a mouthful to say if you aren't from around here in Kerala. M/S Atlas Mines & Granites handles a lot of the heavy stuff you see around. Most days start early because the sun gets quite hot later on. The office doesn't have much fancy furniture, just what we need to get the paperwork done for the granite loads. We’ve been at this address, 690505, for a good while now. People usually find us by asking for the Naduvilemuri post office area. It isn't like those big corporate offices in Mumbai even though the name mentions it. Out here, things move at a different pace. Sometimes the rain slows down the mining work, but that is just how it goes in this part of India. We spend a lot of time checking the stone quality and making sure the trucks are loaded right. It’s dusty work, and your boots never really stay clean for long. If you ever walk into the yard at Kaduvinal Tharayil, you’ll see the slabs stacked up everywhere. There’s always someone drinking tea nearby or checking the manifest. It’s a simple setup we have here. We focus on the rocks and getting them where they need to go without much fuss. That’s pretty much the daily life for us at Atlas.
