Monsignor Mathew Kooplicat Memorial Foundation

The Monsignor Mathew Kooplicat Memorial Foundation is located in Muhamma. We work out of the Vallapurackal house, which is an old family home. Being in Alappuzha, we are surrounded by a lot of water and trees. It is a very peaceful place to work. We started this to keep the memory of Monsignor Mathew alive. He was a good man who cared about the people here, and we try to do the same. We don't have any big offices or high-tech equipment. It is mostly just us sitting around a wooden table talking about who needs help in the village. We know most of the people in the 688525 area by their first names. They come to the house when they have a problem. We listen and see if we can help out with some money or just some advice. It is a very direct way of working. We don't have any fancy mission statements or marketing plans. We just look at what is right in front of us. Some days we are very busy and other days it is just us drinking tea and waiting for the mail. It is a slow pace of life, but it allows us to really connect with people. We aren't a big organization, just a few local folks doing what we can to make life a bit easier for everyone.
