Minerva Boutique

Our little shop Minerva Boutique is right here in Alleppey. It is a place for clothes and various fabrics. Most people who live around here know us. We have been in this same spot for quite some time now. It is not a big fancy showroom like you see in the city, just a regular room filled with stacks of material. We spend most of our days measuring things and talking to customers about what they want to wear for weddings or the local festivals. Alleppey is a busy town with all the tourists coming through, but our regulars are mostly the locals. They come in and sit for a bit while we look through the new arrivals of cloth. Sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped because we have so many rolls of fabric sitting everywhere. We try to keep things tidy but it is hard when you are busy with three things at once. My sister helps with the stitching sometimes when we have a lot of orders. We do not have a website or anything like that. We just open the doors in the morning and see who comes in. Sometimes it is quiet and we just sit and drink tea. Other days, everyone wants their clothes finished at the exact same time. It is just how it goes. We do not use any big machines, mostly just standard ones. It is a simple life and we have been at it for years.
