Our shop is down in Alappuzha, right in the heart of Kerala with the pincode 688001. Around here, everyone calls us Marc. We spend our days dealing with air conditioning and refrigeration, specifically for marine use. Since Alappuzha is full of boats and backwaters, there is always something that needs fixing or a cooling system that has stopped working because of the heat. The workshop is usually quite messy with tools, copper pipes, and bits of insulation scattered around. It’s a small operation, mostly just a few technicians and someone to handle the phone calls. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll likely see someone covered in grease or carrying a heavy compressor out to a truck. The humidity here is no joke, so we understand why people are in a hurry to get their cooling systems fixed as quickly as possible. We’ve been in this spot for years and know most of the boat owners around the docks. The office part is just a small desk in the corner with a ledger and an old computer that takes a while to start up. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the weather while we work on the units. It’s a simple life, focused on keeping things cold in a very hot part of the country. We just do the work as it comes in and try to stay busy.
