Margin Free Market

We run the Margin Free Market out of Charummoottil House, which is at number 78 in Vathikulam. It’s a quiet part of Mavelikara, near the Olakettiyambalam Post. This isn't a big supermarket like you see in the cities; it’s more of a local place for the people living right here in Alapuzha. We try to keep the prices down so our neighbors can get what they need without spending too much. The shop is part of the house, so it feels very personal. We know almost everyone who walks through the door. Sometimes we chat for a bit about the weather or local news while we’re bagging up items. It gets a bit humid here, especially during the monsoon season, but we keep things as dry as we can. The shelves are filled with the basics like rice, oil, tea, and other household stuff. We don't have a lot of help, mostly just family members taking turns behind the counter. It’s a simple life. The road outside isn't very wide, so it’s mostly foot traffic or people on bicycles. We’ve been part of this community for a long time. People trust us to have what they need for their daily cooking. We don't go in for big displays or loud music. It’s just a quiet, steady shop in a nice part of the world. We stay open until the evening when things settle down. That is our way.
