Running Lukes Designs out here in Mavelikkara has its own pace. Kerala is beautiful, but work is work, and we stay busy most days. We are located in the 690107 area, and it's a quiet enough spot for what we do. Usually, the morning starts with a lot of coffee and looking at sketches or whatever project is on the desk. We do a lot of design work, which means a lot of staring at screens or drawing things out on paper. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we keep our tools and computers. Sometimes the rain gets really heavy and we just have to wait it out before heading home. It's a small team, so everyone knows what the other person is doing. We don't have big meetings; we just talk across the room. People stop by sometimes to ask about what we're making. We try to keep things simple. Dealing with deadlines can be a bit of a headache, but that's how it goes in this business. Mavelikkara is a good place to be, not as chaotic as the big cities. We just focus on the drawings and getting the measurements right. It's practical work. Most of the time, the radio is playing in the background while we work. We've been at this for some time now, just making sure the designs are ready for the next step.
