Kayaloram Heritage Lake Resort

Our place, Kayaloram Heritage Lake Resort, is tucked away in Avalookunnu, right by the water in Punnamada South. It’s a quiet area, which is what most people expect when coming here. We have these old-style buildings that have been around for quite a while. Keeping up with a lakeside property in Aryao is a lot of work because of the humidity and the water, but we stay on top of it. It’s not a shiny new hotel; it has that lived-in feel which seems to suit the lake surroundings. You can see the boats going by if you sit out by the edge. We spend a lot of our time making sure the grounds are kept up and the paths are clear. It’s just a small team of us working here. We don't use any big fancy words to describe the place because what you see is what you get. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but once you arrive, it is much calmer than the main town. We have had families coming here for years, and they usually just want a bit of peace. The rooms are simple and we try to keep things running smoothly without making a big fuss. Sometimes the insects from the lake are a bit much, but that's nature for you. We just keep doing what we do every day and hope the weather stays nice for the guests. It takes effort to keep the old wood from rotting.
