Copains Fire Systems & Solutions is located in the Municipal Shopping Complex in Cherthala. It is a busy little spot, especially on market days when everyone from the surrounding villages comes into town. Our shop is one of many in the complex, so it can be a bit crowded with people walking past the window all day. We deal with fire systems, so there are always red tanks and coils of hose sitting around the floor. The walls are lined with different kinds of nozzles and brackets that we've collected over the years. It gets quite humid here in Cherthala, so we have to be careful about how we store some of the more sensitive gear. The Municipal Shopping Complex is an older building, and you can definitely tell by the way the doors creak. We know most of the other shop owners nearby, and we often share a tea in the afternoons. It’s not a high-end office, just a practical place where we get the job done. Sometimes we have to move our displays back to make room for the cleaning crews in the hallways. We don't have any big corporate slogans or anything like that. We just help people with their fire safety needs and keep the records in our big ledger books. It’s a steady way to spend the day, and we've gotten used to the noise.
