Our office for Chengannoor Mithrabandhu Nidhi Limited is right in the Palamoottil Building. You can't really miss it if you know the Hospital Junction in Chengannur. It's a busy part of town, so there is always something going on outside. We started this because people around here needed a place to handle their small savings without traveling too far. Most of us living nearby find it easier to just walk over. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a regular space with some desks and filing cabinets. We spend a lot of time writing things down and talking to the people who drop by after their hospital visits or grocery shopping. It gets quite crowded on market days. Sometimes the fans are a bit loud, but we get the work done. We handle things for the locals, mostly families who have lived in Chengannur for generations. It is a bit of a small operation, but that's how we like it. We know the people, and they know us. You don't see any big signs or flashy lights here. Just a door and a name. Dealing with money is serious, so we just focus on the numbers and making sure the ledgers are right. It’s hard work sometimes, especially when the weather is hot, but seeing the same faces every week makes it worth it. We are usually here from morning until the sun goes down.
