Alleppy Estate & Export Pvt Ltd. sounds like a big name, but we’re just a small group here in Haripad. Our office is at Plot No- 11/86, Sivakripa Naduvattom. It’s a quiet area with a lot of trees. We do some exports, but most of our work is just keeping track of the local estates. My father started this years ago. I took over when he got too old to climb the stairs. The building is a bit tucked away, so people sometimes get lost trying to find us. We have a lot of old files in big wooden cabinets. Everything is a bit dusty, even though we try to clean every Monday. The rains in Kerala are no joke. When the monsoon hits, the roof leaks a little in the corner. We just put a bucket there and carry on. We talk to people from all over, mostly over the phone. It’s strange thinking of our stuff going to different countries while we’re just sitting here in Haripad drinking tea. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If you walk in, you’ll probably just see me or my cousin sitting at a desk. We just do the work that needs doing and try to keep everyone happy. It’s a quiet business, and we like it that way. No stress, just the daily routine.
