Our office is down on Middle Street in Alagankulam, which is a small post area in the Ramanathapuram district of Tamilnadu. It’s a place where everyone knows everyone, and we’ve been part of this community for a long time. The address is 7/994, and it’s just a regular building like the ones around it. We don’t have any big flashy lights or advertisements out front. Most of the people who come to see us at Velumanickam & Co. are locals or folks from nearby villages who have been told where to find us by word of mouth. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, chairs, and a lot of registers. We handle various things for the local trade and business here, and it keeps us busy from morning until the evening. The weather can be quite harsh and dry in this part of the state, so we rely on our old ceiling fans to keep the air moving. During the rainy season, the street can get a bit muddy, but that’s just how it is. We usually have a bit of a chat with the neighbors while we’re opening up the shutters in the morning. It’s a slow-paced life compared to Chennai or Madurai, but there’s always something to do. We just focus on keeping our records straight and helping out the people who walk through our door every day. We don't worry about being big or famous, just being here when someone needs us.
