Skipper Engineers

Skipper Engineers is located at W-49 in Phase III of the MIDC area in Akola. Being out in the industrial zone means we have a fair amount of space, which is good for the kind of engineering work we do. It’s a bit of a drive from the main town, but that’s where all the action is for businesses like ours. The roads in Phase III can be a bit rough, especially after the rains, but we’re used to it. Our workshop is a big open shed with high ceilings. We have our machines lined up and enough room to move materials around. It’s not a climate-controlled environment, so it gets pretty hot in the summer months. We just keep the fans going and get on with it. We don't have a big staff, just a few reliable guys who know their way around the equipment. We don't use any fancy management techniques. We just look at the list of what needs to be built or repaired and we start working. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought because of a stubborn part, but we stay until it’s finished. It’s straightforward work. We don't make big promises, we just try to do the job right the first time. The sun sets pretty early out here, so we try to get the heavy work done while there is good light. It’s just a regular, hard-working day at the shop and we like keeping it simple.
