Lalla Shukla Eat Udyog

Lalla Shukla Eat Udyog is out in Village Ugrasenpur. We are really close to the railway station, so you can hear the trains passing by all day long while we work. Making bricks is what we do here. It’s a small village, so everyone knows everyone else. We have the yard set up where the earth is good for making the blocks. It’s dusty and the sun is hot most of the year, but that’s just the job. We don’t have an office in the city. Everything happens right here near the tracks. When the coal comes in or the bricks go out, the station area gets a bit busy and loud. We just keep our heads down and work on the stacks in the yard. It’s a family-run kind of thing, nothing fancy about it. We use the same methods we’ve used for years. Sometimes the rain stops us for a few weeks, and we just have to wait for the ground to dry out. People from around the village and the nearby areas come by when they are building something new. We don’t do any big marketing or advertising. Just the name Lalla Shukla on the side of the yard. It’s a simple life in Ugrasenpur. We just try to make enough bricks to keep things going and hope the weather stays clear for the firing process. It’s hard work but it’s what we know and how we spend our time.
