Laddha Hospital

Laddha Hospital has been sitting here on Convent Road for a long time. If you know the Kedia Plot area in Akola, you’ve probably walked past our building a dozen times. We aren't one of those massive city hospitals with glass walls and uniforms for everyone. It’s a bit older and more lived-in. We have our routine here. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we all walk or bike to work. It’s a busy spot because of the location on Convent Road, but we manage. Sometimes the floors aren't as shiny as they could be, but we’re busy looking after people and that takes up most of our time. We have different rooms for different needs, and everything is spread out across the building in a way that makes sense to us. It’s been here since the neighborhood was much smaller. You see a lot of history in the walls if you look closely enough at the old brickwork. We keep the doors open and just do what needs doing every day. There’s always someone at the front desk, even if they’re on the phone or writing in a ledger. We use a lot of paper records still because that’s what we’re used to and it works for us. Akola is a place where everyone talks, so news about the hospital travels by word of mouth mostly. We don’t do much fancy stuff, just the usual hospital work that the town needs. It gets noisy outside with the traffic, but inside we just keep things moving along steadily.
