We are located right inside the Agra Gate area of Ajmer. It is a very old and busy part of the city, and we have been here for quite some time. The streets are narrow and always filled with the sounds of the market. Our office is a small place that reflects the age of the neighborhood. We have high ceilings and old wooden cabinets that hold years of files and documents. It’s not the easiest place to find if you aren't familiar with the gate, but once you’re here, it’s a very simple spot. We don't have fancy air conditioning, so we keep the windows open to let the air circulate. You can hear the vendors calling out their prices from down below. It’s a very human way to work, being right in the middle of all that activity. There are usually three or four of us at our desks, working through stacks of paper. We don’t use a lot of high-tech gadgets, just what we need to get the job done. Sometimes we have a snack from one of the local stalls while we work. The office has a certain smell of paper and old wood that I’ve grown to like over the years. We know most of the people who live and work around Agra Gate. It’s a tight community and we feel like a real part of it. We just do our bit every day, checking figures and filing away folders until it's time to go home.
