Sajan Bartan Bhandar

Our shop is over in Madar Gate at the Mahveer Market. Sajan Bartan Bhandar is where we sell all types of kitchenware. It is a busy market area so there is always something going on outside our door. We have everything from small bowls to big frying pans. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling so we have to use a tall wooden ladder to reach the top items. It is a bit rickety but it does the job. Most of our customers are women from the nearby colonies who want a new pressure cooker or some glasses. We talk about the weather and the prices while we pack their bags in newspaper. The light in the back of the shop is a bit dim but we are planning to fix that soon. We don't really have a website or anything like that because we prefer talking to people face to face. If you come by in the afternoon you might catch us having lunch in the back room. The smell of curry usually fills the shop around that time. We try to keep the brassware shiny but the dust from the street makes it a constant chore. It is just a family business where we all pitch in to keep things running. We have been in Mahveer Market for a long time and we don't plan on going anywhere else because this is where our friends are. We enjoy seeing the same faces year after year.
