Sai Baba Kirana Store

Sai Baba Kirana Store sits right on Foy Sagar Road and it has been there for a while now. The road gets quite loud with the scooters and buses going past all afternoon. We mostly sell flour, spices, and the small packets of biscuits that kids like. It is a small space so we have to stack everything high up to the ceiling. Sometimes it is hard to find a specific brand of tea if the pile moves around. Living and working on Foy Sagar Road means you get used to the noise. We usually start the day by sweeping the front step and checking what ran out yesterday. If the rain comes, we have to move the grain bags inside quickly so they don't get damp. It is just me and one other person here most of the time. We drink a lot of tea while waiting for the next person to walk in. The fan makes a clicking sound but it keeps the air moving at least. People from the nearby houses come in for their monthly rations. We write things down in a big ledger because it is easier than using a computer for everything. Sai Baba Kirana Store is just a regular spot for the neighborhood. Nothing special, just a place to get what you need for dinner. The sun hits the front window pretty hard in the evening. We close up when it gets dark and the Foy Sagar Road traffic thins out. We have a small cat that hangs around the entrance too.
