Ram Dayal Aushdhalya

Naya Bazar is always busy, especially around the Nahar Mohalla area here in Ajmer. Our place, Ram Dayal Aushdhalya, has been a part of this street for quite a while now. If you walk in, you’ll mostly smell the dried herbs and maybe some of the oils we keep on the wooden shelves. It’s not a fancy setup, just a practical space where we spend most of our day grinding things or weighing out portions for people who come in. Sometimes the dust from the street gets in, and we’re constantly wiping down the glass counters. People stop by after finishing their shopping in the market, often asking for something for a cough or just a bit of advice on what they should be taking. We don’t have a big team or anything, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. The drawers are old and sometimes they stick when you pull them too fast. We try to keep things organized, but on busy Mondays, it gets a bit messy with paper bags and labels everywhere. It is just how a local shop like this runs. We see the same faces year after year, and you get to know who likes what. The traffic outside is loud, but inside we just focus on the jars and the scales. It’s a simple life here in the bazar, doing what we've always done without making much of a fuss about it.
