R. K. Chemicals

R. K. Chemicals is tucked away at 2171 in Bhagyam Palace. We are located on Puliyur 1st Lane, which can be a bit of a squeeze for the bigger trucks that come to drop off supplies. The building is older and has that solid feel to it. Inside, it’s all business. We have various containers and barrels that take up a lot of the floor space. It’s not the kind of place you’d come for a fancy meeting. We wear practical clothes because things can get a bit messy when we are moving stock around. The air usually has a faint, sharp smell of the materials we work with, but you stop noticing it after ten minutes. Our desks are tucked into the corners wherever they could fit. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers and checking on orders. The lane outside is usually busy with neighbors and other small shops. We know the people at the tea stall nearby quite well. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or two, and we just sit by the window where the light is better to finish our writing. It’s a lot of physical work and keeping track of numbers. We don't have any big slogans or shiny displays. It is just a workspace where we get things done every day. When the shutters go down at night, we’re usually pretty tired, but it’s a good kind of tired.
