About Pg Handmade Paper Industries – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Ajmer
Pg Handmade Paper Industries is situated off Ajmer Road, not far from Giriraj Dharamkanta. It’s a bit of a dusty area but we like it here well enough. Making paper by hand is a messy and slow process. There’s a lot of water and wet pulp involved in everything we do. Our yard is usually full of large sheets of paper drying out in the sun. It’s a very old-fashioned way of doing things, but it’s what we know how to do best. We don't have big automated machines. It’s mostly people using their hands and simple wooden frames to lift the pulp. We have a small crew of workers who have been with us for a long time. They know exactly how thick the paper should be just by feeling it with their fingers. We make all sorts of paper for bags and cards. Sometimes the colors don't come out exactly the same every time, but that’s just the nature of handmade stuff. We don't try to be perfect. The office is just a small room with a desk and some samples piled up. We don't have a fancy reception area. If you come by to visit, you’ll probably find us out in the drying area or near the water vats. It’s a quiet business compared to the big factories. We rely on the weather a lot. If it rains, we can't dry anything.
