Pehchan Gift Shop sits right at Diggi Chowk in Ashaganj. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets around the chowk. There’s always someone shouting or a horn honking outside our door. We’ve been here for years, and the walls could probably tell a lot of stories if they could talk. The shop is filled with rows of shelves that we built ourselves. We carry things that we think people around here will actually use or like to give away. It’s not like those big malls where everything looks the same. Here, things are a bit more lived-in. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the neighbors who stop by to say hello. Sometimes they don't even buy anything, and that’s fine. We have some older stock in the back that we need to clear out one of these days. The floor is a bit worn down from all the walking, but it shows we’ve had plenty of visitors. During festival times, the whole shop gets rearranged to fit in more seasonal items. It’s a bit of a scramble, but we get it done. We don't have any staff really, just family members taking turns behind the counter. It’s a simple setup, and we like keeping it that way. No big plans to expand or anything, just staying here at the chowk where the action is every day and people keep coming and going past the shop window like they always do.
