Our spot, Mayur Gift Corner, is right out on Ajmer By Pass Road in Kishangarh. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there is always a lot of noise from the trucks and buses going past. We opened up here because it seemed like a good place for people to stop while they were traveling. The shop itself is nothing fancy. We have glass cases filled with all sorts of things, from clocks to statues. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes it gets a bit messy when a big group comes in at once. Usually, it’s just one or two of us working here at a time. We open early in the morning, around the time the first tea stalls down the road start up. The sun hits the front window pretty hard in the afternoon, so we have to pull the shade down halfway. It keeps the place a bit cooler. We get a lot of people who are just passing through and realized they forgot to buy something for someone back home. They seem happy to find a place that isn't in the middle of a crowded market. We don't have a website or anything like that. Most people just see the sign from the road and pull over. It’s a practical little business. We keep the inventory simple. If we run out of something, we just get more next time the supplier comes by with his truck and drops things off.
