Manoj Provision Store

Being out near the Parbatpura Bypass on Jaipur Road means Manoj Provision Store gets a lot of different people. It’s not like being in the center of town where everyone knows your name. Out here, things move fast. We deal with a lot of dust from the highway, so I am constantly cleaning the glass jars. The shop isn't very large, but we pack in as much as we can on the shelves. It’s mostly daily essentials because that’s what people living around the bypass need. I usually get here early because some workers like to pick up stuff before their shift starts. The road outside is always roaring with trucks and big cars heading toward Jaipur. Inside, it’s just me and the radio playing some old songs. I don't really bother with decorating the place. It’s more about making sure the flour and the oil are in stock. Sometimes the supply trucks have a hard time stopping because of the traffic. It gets a bit lonely during the mid-day stretch when the sun is beating down on the bypass, but then the evening rush starts. I've been running this for a few years and it's steady work. It's just a regular shop serving a busy part of the road where people are always on the go. There’s no point in making it fancy when folks just want their supplies and to get moving.
