About Jai Laxmi Engineering – Agriculture & Farming in Ajmer
Our workshop for Jai Laxmi Engineering is out in the Makhupura Industrial Area, which is a place filled with the sound of metal hitting metal. It’s a big open shed where we keep the lathes, welding machines, and all the raw iron rods we use for our work. The floor is always covered in a bit of grease and metal shavings, no matter how much we try to sweep it up. We wear heavy boots and old clothes because things get messy very quickly when you are working with machinery. The air smells like oil and burnt metal, which is something you just stop noticing after the first week of working here. We spend our time taking measurements, cutting parts, and fixing things that have broken down in other factories nearby. It’s loud in Makhupura, and sometimes we have to shout to be heard over the grinders. We don't have an air conditioner, just a few big industrial fans that move the hot air around during the summer months. There is a small wooden desk in the corner where we keep the drawings and the order book, but most of our time is spent standing at the machines. It’s a tough environment, and our hands are usually stained with black oil by the time we head home. We just focus on making things that fit right and work the way they are supposed to. It’s honest work that keeps us busy.
