Maha Kaleshwar General Store

Maha Kaleshwar General Store is located in the HMT Industrial Area on Beawar Road. It’s not your typical neighborhood shop because we are surrounded by factories and warehouses. Most of my customers are men who work in these industries. They stop by for their daily supplies of tea, biscuits, and sometimes basic groceries to take home. The shop is a simple concrete structure with a tin roof that gets quite loud when it rains. It can also get very hot during the peak of summer, so I have a big cooler that I keep filled with water. The shelves are mostly stocked with things that have a long shelf life because the environment is quite dusty. I don't have any fancy displays or cooling racks for vegetables. Everything is kept in boxes or on simple wooden planks. The floor is always a bit dirty from the heavy work boots that come in all day, so I sweep it out several times a day. I’ve known some of the factory workers for years now, and we often share a cup of tea in the slow hours between shifts. There isn't much to look at around here, just industrial buildings and trucks, but the business is steady. I don't use any modern billing systems; I just keep everything in my head or in a small diary. It’s a basic, functional place that serves the people working hard in the industrial area every single day.
