About Exclusive Indian Sarees – Fashion & Trends in Ajmer
Purani Mandi is an old place, and that is where we are located at number 117. It is the kind of neighborhood where everyone knows each other, and the streets are usually quite narrow and full of people. Running a saree shop here means dealing with a lot of fabric every single day. We spend hours unfolding these long pieces of silk and cotton to show the patterns, then we have to fold them back up perfectly, which takes a lot of practice. The light in the shop isn't always the brightest, but we try to keep it tidy. It can get pretty cramped when a few people come in at once, especially with all the boxes stacked in the corners. We’ve been at this spot for a good while, and the routine hasn't changed much over the years. You wake up, open the shutters, sweep the front, and wait for the first person to walk in. The mandi can be a bit chaotic during festival times, with trucks unloading and people shouting, but inside the shop, we just focus on the sarees. It is a lot of physical work, lifting the heavy bundles and making sure nothing gets snagged on the old wooden shelves. It’s not a glamorous job, but there is something nice about seeing the different colors and designs come through the door. We just stay busy and keep the shelves full as best as we can.
