Hanuman Kirana Store

I’ve been running Hanuman Kirana Store in Nagina Bagh Azad Nagar for quite some time now. The street is narrow and the houses are built close together, so you always hear what the neighbors are doing. My shop is filled with the smell of different pulses and spices because I sell a lot of things in bulk. I spend a lot of time scooping grains out of large sacks and weighing them on the scale. It’s a bit of a dusty job and my clothes usually have some flour on them by the end of the shift. The shelves are old and have been repainted a few times, but they hold up the heavy jars just fine. I have a small calendar on the wall with pictures of gods that I look at every morning. Most of my customers are women from the nearby houses who come in for their daily cooking supplies. We chat about the prices of vegetables or the latest neighborhood gossip. I don't have a delivery truck or anything, people just carry their bags home themselves. Sometimes a stray dog will sit by the door hoping for a biscuit, and I usually give in. The shop is small and a bit cluttered, but I know exactly where every single item is hidden. It’s a humble place, but it’s been good to my family over the years.
