H P Tailor & General Store

H P Tailor & General Store is a bit different because we do two things at once here on Silora Sardar Singh Dhani Road. Half the shop is full of cloth and sewing machines, and the other half is filled with general store goods. You might hear the sewing machine clicking away while someone else is buying a bag of sugar. It makes for a busy atmosphere. We have been on this road for a good while. The space is a little tight with all the fabric rolls and the boxes of biscuits. We often have to move things around just to find a place to sit. The dust from the road is always a problem, so we try to keep the fabrics covered up. People from the nearby dhanis come in for repairs or to buy something they ran out of at home. We spend our days measuring sleeves and weighing out spices. It’s a lot of work to keep track of both sides of the business. The light in here isn't the best, but we manage. We have an old metal trunk where we keep some of the more expensive threads. It’s just us working here, so there is no fancy management. We know our neighbors and they know us. Most days are long, but we are used to the rhythm of Silora Sardar Singh Dhani Road. It’s just a normal shop for regular folks.
