Goyal Hospital

Our place is right at Mill Chowk in Bijaynagar. You can see the big water tank from our front steps, which makes it easy to give directions to anyone who is lost. Goyal Hospital has been a part of this corner for a while now. The area is always full of activity with the market nearby. We get a lot of noise from the mill and the trucks passing through the chowk. Inside, we try to keep things a bit more orderly, but it can be a challenge when it's busy. The benches in the lobby are old wooden ones that have been smoothed down by years of people sitting on them. We have a small desk for the pharmacist that is usually buried under boxes of medicine. The light bulbs in the corridor flicker sometimes, and we keep meaning to change them. It’s a practical kind of place. We don’t have fancy rugs or art on the walls. Most of the people who come in are workers from the area or farmers from the outskirts. We hear a lot of stories about the crops and the local politics while we work. The rain sometimes leaks a little near the back door, so we keep a bucket handy during monsoon season. It’s just a normal part of life here at Mill Chowk. We open early and stay until the work is done for the day.
