If you walk down Station Road toward Alwar Gate, you'll find us there at Bhootiya Halwai. It’s a spot that’s been around for a bit, and we’re pretty much part of the scenery now. The trains are always coming and going nearby, so there’s a constant flow of travelers looking for a snack. We start our day before the sun is even up, getting the big kadhais ready. Making sweets is hard work on the back and the arms, but it’s what we do. We don't use any fancy machines, just our hands and the old tools we've always used. The shop floor is a bit uneven, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it feels like home to us. Customers often stand around the counter chatting while they wait for their order to be wrapped in newspaper or boxes. We see a lot of tired faces from the station, and it’s good to give them something sweet. We don’t have a website or anything like that; people just know where we are. Sometimes we run out of milk early and have to scramble to get more. It’s just how a small shop works. We try to keep things honest and simple. There's no secret to it, just staying at the stove and making sure the flavors are right. We'll be here tomorrow morning doing the exact same thing again. It is just the way we live.
