At Bhola Ram Narayan Lal Khandelwal, we have been doing business on Ramganj Road for many years. Our location is easy to spot because we are right near the Punjab National Bank in the Ramganj area. It is a busy part of the city with a lot of movement. We are basically a traditional family-run establishment. The shop has been passed down and we keep the old ways of doing things. You won’t find any computers here, just the usual scales and bags. We sell grains and other bulk items that families in Ramganj need. The road outside is always dusty and full of honking cars, especially being so close to the bank. People come in after doing their banking business. I spend a lot of time weighing out lentils and sugar for the locals. We know most of our customers by their first names. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we do. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to get to it. We keep long hours, opening up before the bank does and closing well after dark. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes it tough, but we have a small fan that keeps us going. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure everyone gets what they paid for. It's a steady life here on Ramganj Road.
