Ansari Sharee Center

Opening the shop at Ansari Sharee Center usually starts with a bit of a struggle with the metal shutter. It gets stuck sometimes, especially when it is humid out here near Sadar Bajar. Being on Arai Road in Kishangarh means we see a lot of the same faces every day, people just walking to work or heading to the main market area. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard by mid-morning, so we keep the fans going at full speed to stay comfortable. Inside, it is mostly just stacks of sharees everywhere. We try to keep things organized, but when it is busy, the piles just grow on the counters. People come in looking for something specific, and sometimes we have to dig through the back to find the right color. It is not a fancy place by any means. There is a tea stall just a few doors down, and the smell of ginger tea usually drifts in around eleven. We spend a lot of time just refolding fabric. It is a bit of a never-ending job because once someone looks at a few pieces, the whole stack needs fixing again. The floors are stone, which stays cool even in the summer heat. We have been at this spot for a while now, and the neighbors are all the same. We know the guy who delivers the mail and the kids who play in the alley behind us. It is just a normal day-to-day life here in Silora, keeping the shelves full.
