William Mobile Clinic

Our clinic is a bit different because we are mobile, but we are based out of the Thanglianchhunga building, House No. B-57, on the Main Street in Zarkawt. That building belonged to a well-known person here, and everyone in the neighborhood knows the spot. We spend a lot of our time out on the road, taking the clinic to different spots where people need us. The van we use is a bit older now and the engine makes a funny sound when it starts up, but it gets us where we need to go. Inside the van, we’ve fitted everything we need to do basic checkups and first aid. When we are back at the Zarkawt office, we spend time cleaning the equipment and organizing the supplies for the next trip. It’s a lot of work keeping everything stocked up in such a small space. The Main Street is always packed with people and shops, so parking the mobile unit can be a real struggle sometimes. We have a small team of three people who handle the driving and the medical stuff. It’s not a fancy life, and we spend a lot of time in the heat or the rain, but it’s what we do. People in Zarkawt often wave when they see the van going by. We try to keep our schedule as best we can, though the mountain roads sometimes have other ideas. Sometimes we get stuck in mud, but someone always helps us out.
