J & J Foods

Our place is J & J Foods over at A 10, Modil Road. If you know the Mission Veng area, you probably passed by us once or twice. We spend most of our time dealing with food products. It’s a lot of lifting, checking labels, and making sure everything is fresh. The kitchen or storage area—depending on the day—is always smelling like something different. It can get pretty hectic when the delivery trucks show up all at once. We are just a small team here. We don’t have some big corporate manual telling us how to talk to people. We just talk like normal folks. Sometimes the floor gets a bit messy during the lunch rush or when we are packing up big crates, but we clean up when we can. Working with food means you can’t really sit around. There is always something that needs to be moved or checked. Modil Road is a good place for us. We have been here long enough that we know the delivery drivers by their first names. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the stuff we send out is good and that we can pay our bills at the end of the month. It’s honest work and it keeps us on our toes every single day. Usually, one of us is around if you need to ask about an order or just want to say hello.
