Civil Hospital Aizawl

The Civil Hospital in Aizawl sits right on the Main Road in Dawrpui, so it is right in the middle of everything. If you live around here, you know how hard it can be to find a place to park your scooty nearby. The area is always buzzing with people going to the shops or the market, and a lot of that energy spills over into the hospital. We aren't a new facility with shiny glass walls. It is an older building that has seen a lot of years and a lot of patients. Inside, the hallways are narrow and you’ll always find people chatting or waiting for their turn. The staff here are mostly locals who have lived in Aizawl their whole lives. We see our neighbors and our cousins coming in for checkups. Since we are a government hospital, we stay pretty busy. There is always a bit of a wait, and sometimes the paperwork takes a while because everything is still quite traditional. It gets a bit chilly in the winter months, and you can see people wrapped in their shawls sitting on the wooden benches. We don't have all the bells and whistles of a big city hospital in the plains, but we manage with what we have. It’s just a place where people from Dawrpui and the surrounding hills come when they aren't feeling well. It is a bit crowded and loud, but it is an important part of life here.
