Blij Engg & Construction Private Limited

Blij is based out of Chawnpui in Aizawl, specifically at Ngentluana-Iv’s place on L-10, B-1. We do engineering and construction work, which sounds a bit formal, but we are really just a local crew. We spend most of our time dealing with the usual headaches of building in Mizoram, like trying to get a truck up a narrow alleyway or figuring out how to stabilize a muddy slope. The engineering side helps us understand the technical bits, but at the end of the day, it is still about getting out there with the shovels and the concrete mixers. We do not have a big fancy headquarters. It is just a small space where we keep our tools and do some of the drawing work on the table. The guys who work with us are all local, and we have been through many rainy seasons together now. Construction here is a lot of waiting for the sun to come out and then working as fast as you can before the next clouds roll in. We do not make big promises, we just look at the site and tell you what is actually possible to do. It is a bit of a juggle managing the labor and the materials, especially with prices for steel going up all the time. But we like the work, even when it is muddy and tiring. It is nice to see something get built.
