Utkarsh Glass Alluminium Works

We are over at Utkarsh Glass, doing what we do every day with glass and aluminum. The shop floor is usually covered in little bits of metal shavings that we have to sweep up every couple of hours. It is a messy job but someone has to do it. We spend a lot of time measuring things twice because if you cut the glass wrong once, it is just scrap. The aluminum frames come in long bars and we cut them down to size right here. It is noisy when the saw is running. People walk by and peek in to see what we are making today. It is just a local shop, nothing like those big factories you see on TV. We have our tools hung up on the wall, mostly where they belong. The light comes in through the front and hits the glass sheets, making reflections all over the place. We have been at Utkarsh Glass for a good while. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk about the weather or the news. Other days, we are rushing to get everything finished before the sun goes down. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the metal. We just keep working through it. There is always a pile of glass off-cuts in the corner waiting to be cleared out. It is a simple life, working with your hands and making sure the frames are straight.
