SHRISH URBAN NIDHI LIMITED is located out in Gunjalwadi, which is in the Ahmednagar district. We share space with Indubai Laxman Gunjal’s place. It’s a quiet spot compared to the big cities. Most of what we do here involves talking to the local farmers and families who live in the village. Life moves a bit slower in Gunjalwadi. We don’t have fancy office furniture or big glass windows. It is a very basic setup where we sit down and talk through things with whoever walks in the door. The air is better out here than in the city, but the dust from the road can be a bit much sometimes. We focus on the small savings of the people around us. Everyone knows everyone else here, so there isn’t really a need for formal introductions. We just handle the paperwork and make sure the accounts are right. Sometimes we sit outside if the weather is nice. It’s a simple way of doing business, just being part of the community and helping out with the money side of things. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just our office here in the village. It is practical and direct. We keep the books clean and the doors open for anyone from the neighborhood who needs to settle their accounts or save a little bit for later.
