Saifruit Urban Multipurpose Nidhilimited

Our office for Saifruit Urban Multipurpose Nidhilimited is over in Rahuri, in the Ahmednagar district. You can find us at 589/4/3 on the Vitbhatti Tanpure Wadi Road. It’s a bit of a mouthful of an address, but we are easy enough to spot. The road is a busy one with people moving between the wadis. We call ourselves a multipurpose Nidhi because we try to be useful for whatever the local folks need in terms of savings and small-scale credit. The building is simple, just a practical space where we can sit down and do the accounting. It gets a bit dusty because of the road outside, so we’re always wiping down the desks. We have a few staff members who live nearby and know all the families in the area. When people come in, it’s usually for a quick deposit or to ask about how the Nidhi works. We don't use a lot of complicated language. We just explain things plainly. There’s no big pressure here. We just want to make sure the records are right and that the money is safe for everyone in the Rahuri community. We keep the tea kettle going and we work through the piles of folders every day. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s an important one for the people on this road. Every evening we lock up and head home like everyone else.
