Mimvss Daksh Foundation

You’ll find us at House Number 430 in Anandwadi, which is in the Shrigonda area of Ahmed Nagar. It’s a bit of a quiet spot compared to the bigger cities, but we like it that way. Mimvss Daksh Foundation is just a small group of us from the village. We started this because we wanted to have a way to help our own people without having to wait for big organizations from outside to show up. Our office is just a part of the house, really. We have some benches and a cupboard full of files. We don't have a lot of fancy technology, just a basic computer and a phone that rings more than it should. We do a bit of everything, whatever is needed in the community at the time. Sometimes it’s about farming, other times it’s helping with local health issues or school stuff. We don't have a polished way of speaking or big plans for the future. We just look at what's right in front of us and try to deal with it. It’s practical work. People in Anandwadi know where we are, so they just come by whenever they have a problem. We usually sit outside if the weather is nice. It’s a very informal setup, but it’s how we like to operate. We’re just locals helping locals in this part of Maharashtra. We don't need much else to keep going.
