Amit Canvasing

Amit Canvasing is based at Plot No 8 in the Market Yard area. This place is usually a hub of activity with trucks coming and going all hours of the day. The ground is mostly dirt and gravel, so things get pretty dusty, especially when the wind picks up around the yard. We spend a lot of time outside or in the open area of the plot dealing with whatever needs canvasing. It’s a very practical kind of job, mostly involving a lot of talking to traders and moving goods around. You won’t find any fancy chairs or air conditioning here; it’s just a workspace meant for getting things done. We have a small desk where we keep the logs and the phone, but most of the action happens out on the plot. The Market Yard can be a confusing place if you aren't used to it, with all the different numbers and gates. We’ve been at Plot 8 for a while, and we’ve seen the market change over the seasons. Some days are incredibly slow and we just sit around waiting for the next delivery, while other days we don’t even have time to eat lunch. It’s a straightforward business and we don’t try to make it seem like anything else. We just handle the canvasing work as it comes in and try to keep things moving along in the yard without too much trouble.
