Guru Shobhika Carpets

Guru Shobhika Carpets is located in Jnopdhi Cantent Tahavdi. It’s a bit of a specific area, and if you aren’t from around here, you might have to ask for directions once or twice to find the right turn. Our place is filled with carpets, as you might expect from the name. There are stacks of them everywhere, and the air usually smells a bit like wool and dyes when you first walk in. It’s not a fancy showroom with bright lights and mirrors; it’s more of a working space where we store and show our goods to whoever comes by. We spend our days unrolling carpets for people to look at and then rolling them back up again, which is good exercise for the arms. Tahavdi is a quiet enough place most of the time, though it gets a bit livelier when deliveries arrive at the door. We don’t have a big corporate structure here. It’s just us, some tea, and a lot of floor coverings. We’ve been working with carpets for a long time, so we can tell a lot about them just by touch and the way they are woven. The building we are in is simple and serves its purpose well. We keep the ledger by the front door and try to stay on top of the orders coming in. Sometimes the dust from the fibers gets to you, so we keep the windows open. It’s a slow-paced kind of work, but we like it that way.
