We have been operating out of Saraf Bazar for quite a long time now. Our shop is tucked away on the first floor of building number 3242, right near the Tin Galli area in Ganj Bazar. Most people who live around Ahmednagar know this part of town well because it is where everyone goes for jewellery. We are not doing anything particularly flashy here. We just keep the doors open and help whoever walks in from the street. It tends to get very busy in the afternoons when the whole market picks up pace, and the sounds of the street come right up to our windows. Sometimes the stairs leading up to our floor can be a bit of a squeeze, but once you get inside, it is a bit more relaxed. We mostly deal with the usual gold items and spend a lot of our day chatting with local folks we have known for years. It is very much a family-style environment where everyone knows each other's names. We do not bother with big websites or social media much; we just rely on this physical location. People come to us because they know the street and they know where 3242 is located at the junction. We keep our business dealings very straightforward and practical. If you are walking through the bazaar, you will eventually see our small sign. We have seen this whole market change a lot over the years, but our way of doing things stays the same.
