You can find us at Shop No. 7 inside the Gajanand Complex on Savedi Road. It is a decent spot, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you are carrying something heavy. I usually get here around nine in the morning to open up the shutters. The complex itself is always full of people going to the different offices and shops, so there is plenty of noise throughout the day. I've been running Nirmal Agencies for a while now, mostly just selling things that the local households and small contractors ask for. The shelves are tall and I have to use a wooden stool to reach the stuff on the top. Sometimes the light in the back of the shop flickers, and I keep telling myself I should fix it, but then I get busy with a customer and forget. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. Most people who come in are regulars who live nearby or work on the road. It gets quite hot in the summer afternoons, so I usually keep a small table fan right next to my chair. It’s a quiet life for the most part, just checking the stock and talking to the delivery guys when they bring new boxes. I try to keep things tidy but with so many small parts, it's hard to stay perfect. Some days I spend a whole afternoon just sorting out screws and bolts that got mixed up in the wrong bins. It keeps the mind busy.
