G S Kshatriya Soda Factory'S

Our shop is number 987 on the Main Road in Ahmednagar. We are right next to the Shri Krishna Mandir. You can usually hear the temple bells and the prayers while we are working on the bottles. Making soda is a pretty loud business. The machines clink and hiss all day long without stopping. It gets very dusty being right on the main road with all the trucks and buses passing by. We spend a lot of our time just cleaning the glass bottles before they get filled. Sometimes the carbonation machine acts up and we have to spend the afternoon fixing the valves. It is an old setup but it does the job for us. My father was the one who started this factory and now I am here doing the same thing. People stop in after they visit the temple when they are feeling thirsty. We don’t have any of those fancy modern flavors, just the basics that people like. The floor is usually a bit wet from the washing area. It gets really busy during the summer months when everyone wants something cold. We struggle to keep up with the orders sometimes. We don’t do deliveries, so people just come by and pick up what they need. It’s a simple, straightforward job. You fill the bottles, you cap them, and you sell them. Sometimes a bottle breaks and we have a mess. That is just part of the work.
