Vicky Gadekar Photography

I’ve been doing photography for a while now, based out of Rahata on the Shirdi Chitali Road. Vicky Gadekar Photography isn't some big studio with a dozen assistants. It’s mostly just me and my cameras. I spend a lot of time traveling between Rahata and Shirdi for different shoots. This road is always busy with people going to the temple, so there’s always something happening. My workspace is simple, just a place to keep my gear and do some editing on the computer. I don't have a fancy storefront with big lights. Most people find me through word of mouth or seeing me at events. Photography is a lot of waiting for the right moment and then a lot of sitting in front of a screen later on. It’s not always as glamorous as it sounds. Sometimes the lighting is bad or the weather doesn't cooperate, and you just have to make it work. I like being on Chitali Road because it’s easy to get to different locations from here. I've taken photos of all sorts of things, from small family gatherings to local events. I don't go in for all that corporate talk. I just like taking pictures that look real. It’s a way to keep busy and be part of the community. I just take things one day at a time and see what needs to be photographed next in the neighborhood.
