We operate Chandan Ambulance out of the area near Keshar Gulab Mangal Kendra on Burudgaon Road. It’s a busy street, which is actually good for us because we need to get moving fast when the phone rings. We’ve got our vehicles parked there, and someone is always around to keep an eye on things. It’s not the kind of job where you sit in an office all day. Most of the time we’re out on the road, navigating the traffic around Burudgaon. The location by the mangal kendra is a good landmark, so people usually find us pretty easily. We keep the ambulances maintained as best we can because they see a lot of wear and tear. It’s a lot of driving, a lot of lifting, and a lot of waiting for the next call. We aren’t some big corporate fleet, just a few of us who know the local roads well and want to help out when someone’s in a pinch. The hours are long and the work can be stressful, but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of it. Sometimes the rain makes the roads a mess, but we still have to get where we’re going. We don’t have fancy brochures or a marketing team. If you’re on Burudgaon Road, you’ve probably seen our vans. We just focus on getting people where they need to go and making sure the equipment is ready. It’s basic work, but it’s important for the folks around here.
